Is the first consultation really free?
Yes. We offer a free initial consultation during which we discuss your family and financial situation. Based on that, we propose next steps and present the costs of any services. There is no obligation.
Do you serve clients in Polish?
Yes — Joanna Gwozdz is fully fluent in Polish and English. All communication, documents and consultations can be conducted in Polish.
What is the difference between a trust and a will?
A will takes effect after death and requires court proceedings (probate). A trust works during your lifetime and after death, avoids probate, ensures privacy and gives you more control over how assets are distributed. During a consultation we will advise which solution fits your situation best.
When should I start estate planning?
The sooner, the better. Estate planning matters for every adult — regardless of age or the size of the estate. It is especially important if you own real estate, have children, run a business or plan to retire.
What is Medicaid and can I qualify?
Medicaid is a government program that funds health and long-term care for people who meet certain income and asset criteria. There are legal strategies that allow you to qualify without losing a lifetime of savings. We assist through the entire process.
How much do your services cost?
Costs depend on the type and scope of the matter. During the free initial consultation we discuss the scope of work in detail and present clear pricing. There are no hidden fees.
Do you accept clients outside Brooklyn?
Yes — we serve clients throughout New York and the surrounding area. Many matters can be handled remotely, and consultations can take place by phone or online.
